Look for my ad in American Songwriter Magazine for the January tour! I’ve been a long time subscriber to AS; it’s pretty cool to be advertising in a publication I’ve been reading for years. Special thanks to Ron Howard from Fusion Shows for getting my design finished with an hour’s notice! Also, photo credits go to Anne Glista for our photo shoot in Ann Arbor in 2009.
Many of you found me my little music EP through Noise Trade. Thanks so much for joining. I’m a regular Noise Trade user too!
With my newsletter, I only email once a month, and I try to include a free download as well. I thought I’d share my second EP with you as a thanks for signing-up. This EP, Burning the Boats, was recorded at same studio as WtSMtT with the help of Dan Achen. Sadly, Dan Achen (producer for Feist, City and Colour) passed away suddenly during the making of EP. I had originally planned to make a full-length record, but Michael Chambers and I finished what we had started with Dan and released it as an EP in 2010.
There are obvious themes about “change” and “decisions” in the second EP. It was released during the start of my last month teaching, and my fiance and I knew that I would be leaving my education career to pursue music full time the following summer.
So here I am. I appreciate you taking time to download Where the Sand Meets the Tide. I have a ten city tour in January, and maybe I’ll be passing your way. If our paths cross, please say hi. Thanks for supporting new music.
Sincerely,
Mike
We are excited to be running an AD with Noisetrade.com this week to PR the new EP, Where the Sand Meets the Tide. Thanks to Brannon from Noisetrade for helping us with a cool banner design and speedy communication! Noisetrade is a very cool site that offers legal, free downloads uploaded by artists. It’s becoming a well-known hot-spot to discover new music.
You can download the EP at Noisetrade.com.

Our eight week old puppy Lois played in the snow for the first time today. Her photo was posted by the Detroit Free Press’s Facebook page and Twitter feed. Cute morning in Downtown Howell!
